If its legalized, you reduce the violence associated with trafficing, will possibly increase revenue from taxing it (but I agree that lots of folks would grow their own), and GREATLY reduce the amount of money spent on the incarcerating pot users. It cost tax payers $15,000-$20,000 a year to pay for one inmate. If Giove gets the minimum 5 year sentence then it will cost us up to $100,000. I don't really want to pay for that especially because SHE IS NOT A DANGEROUS CRIMINAL! It would be hard to tax independent growers but if it were as available as beer, the vast majority of users would be more likely to pay the tax for convenience rather than setting up a large growing operation. I have friends that brew their own beer, very good beer, but it can be a pain in the ass so I choose not to brew my own like the majority of other beer drinkers. About Us
